The CORE Engineer is responsible for driving functional expertise within PWCS-CAS. This role aligns goals with broader business strategies, particularly in CORE and transformation initiatives. The role formulates, evaluates, and implements both short- and long-term CORE/SPS strategic and tactical plans, ensuring all initiatives contribute to operational excellence and align with business objectives.
1. CORE & Continuous Improvement
Deployment Support: Drive and support the deployment of CORE principles across operations to achieve business goals (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
CORE Champion: Serve as a CORE Champion and point of contact for tools and techniques, providing training and support to cross-functional teams.
Project Support: Support CORE projects to achieve business and enterprise objectives, ensuring alignment with the site’s improvement roadmap.
Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis sessions using CORE tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) to resolve operational issues.
CORE Control Room (CCR) Implementation: Support the function of CORE Control Room (CCR).
Drive Internal CORE & Technology Process Maturity: Foster continuous improvement, share best practices, and promote collaboration. Support strategic initiatives for SPS, including planning, standard metrics, training, playbook development, and incorporating feedback from After Action Review (AAR) sessions.
Coordinate Resources for CORE Initiatives: Ensure successful implementation of CORE initiatives by coordinating resources and adhering to best practices. Facilitate (or co-facilitate) Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and other Lean Six Sigma initiatives to improve daily workflows.
2. Digital Transformation
Deployment Support: Drive and support the deployment of ongoing Transformation projects to achieve business goals.
Collaborate with Digital Transformation teams to deploy visual management tools, such as tier boards, to strengthen Standard Production Systems (SPS) and support continuous operational improvements.
Power Apps: Design, build, and deploy low-code applications using Microsoft Power Apps to digitize manual workflows and replace paper forms.
Automation: Utilize Power Automate to streamline approval flows and data notifications.
Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends to drive continuous innovation and digital adoption on the shop floor.
3. Data Management: Ensuring data structures are ready to support transformation initiatives. Facilitating data collection for standard work
Qualifications You Must Have
Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) with 2–4 years of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer Science (Fresh graduates welcome).
Systems Aptitude: Comfortable handling large amounts of data with an ability to learn new software systems (MES/ERP) quickly.
Project Coordination: Strong organizational skills with the ability to track timelines and manage documentation.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring data accuracy, as master data errors can stop production. Qualifications We PreferMES Experience: Exposure to Solumina G8 (iBase-t) or similar Manufacturing Execution Systems.
Low-Code: Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
Data Skills: Experience with Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) for data auditing.
Industry: Experience in Aerospace, MRO, or high-mix manufacturing environments.
