Position Summary:
You will manage a team of testers to help us create the next generation of innovative solutions while also enhancing and optimizing our existing systems and applications that support Penske’s lines of business. Providing day-to-day management and development for your team, you will manage testing projects to ensure seamless delivery, implementation, support, and issue resolution. Using your knowledge and experience with technology, you will help guide our organization to test solutions that will move us forward and keep us ahead of the competition.
Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all functional testing activities across multiple systems and cross functional projects and to ensure that it is done efficiently and effectively.
• Responsible for ensuring the staff tests the products based on testing practice standards
• Responsible for aligning testing across products where there is testing that can be reused across
• Deliver quality products by thorough testing through all phases of development.
• Implement metrics to drive improvements
• Participate in test architecture and design discussions, influencing decisions, and collaborating with peers to maintain consistency across the organization
• Provide direction & day-to-day management of testing associates, onshore and offshore resources to ensure that product testing is prioritized, scheduled & completed according to business needs.
• Guide & mentor associates in their career development & foster collaboration.
• Review needed training for associates and teams
• Conduct performance reviews & set standards for quality
• Communicate & work with process owners in a consultative approach in reviewing, interpreting & testing systems in accordance with requirements while resolving issues / roadblocks as they occur.
• Design, create and build test strategies, test scenarios and test cases for multiple products. This includes integration and system testing that is both manual and automated. Identify process improvements within the testing practice
• Translate business requirements into testable system requirements
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science or related fields.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• ISTQB Certification, Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Process improvement experience preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of functional testing experience with both manual and automated testing. This includes system and integration testing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing/supervising small-medium sized teams.
• Advanced knowledge of software quality engineering practices and principles
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of
o UI, API, load, and stress testing
o Designing test suites
o Software development including coding, basic SQL knowledge to extract data for tests, XML, general web development skills, and web services
o How the functions will work differently on different browsers and devices
o Programming languages, database technologies, and computer operating systems
• Full understanding of software development and testing lifecycles, methodologies and standards, especially around agile methodologies
• Ability to take ultimate responsibility for testing many systems and applications
• Accurately estimate large and complex projects
• Knowledge of DevOps/DevSecOps
• Knowledge of various testing tools including Selenium, Cucumber, Karate, LoadRunner and jMeter.
• Strong analytical skills around system/software capabilities and how it relates to testing a technical solution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work well independently or in a team and complete tasks with minimal supervision; strong sense of urgency.
• Must show initiative in issue resolution and prevention
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
