Position Information
The Director of Administrative Operations, DEI is the principal liaison between the Vice Chancellor for Diversity,Equity & Inclusion (VC DEI), internal Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI) staff, campuscommittees, and external/community partners. Reporting to the VC DEI, the Director of Administrative Operations, DEI oversees, directs, and coordinates the operations of the Vice Chancellor's office and isresponsible for implementing the unit's strategic business priorities and advises the VC DEI oncontroversial issues, existing problems, and matters with policy and programmatic impacts andrecommends solutions. The Director of Administrative Operations, DEI exercises sound judgment in makingsignificant decisions regarding project/business priorities and the order to accomplish them to ensurethat the organization's needs, objectives, and overall goals are met and achieved.Please be advised that applicants are required to submit a cover letter and resume for full consideration.The full salary range for the Director of Administrative Operations, DEI is $97,364.48 - $142,462.15 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $117,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Preferred Minimum Requirements Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees. Advanced knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as events planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, travel and reimbursements, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines. Advanced interpersonal communication skills to include verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Advanced skills in short and long term strategic planning, analysis and problem-solving and customer service. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management. Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to coordinate complex initiatives, manage competing priorities, and meet established deadlines.
