About the Role:

The Mgr-Sustaining Support is a key leader within Disney Experiences, providing functional direction for a team of engineers and architects who deliver rapid technical support for resort, park, cruise, and other facilities across the portfolio. This role ensures urgent and complex facility issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly, safeguarding guest experiences and operational reliability while aligning sustaining efforts with Disney's strategic priorities.

This position will report to the Senior Manager-Programs-Project Design Support.

Responsibilities:

This leader oversees a team of technical professionals and responds to urgent and non-urgent facility requests, driving root-cause analysis and final resolution across complex building systems. Partnering closely with Engineering Services and other business leaders, the Mgr-Sustaining Support sets strategies, priorities, and resource plans that keep Disney's theme parks, resorts, cruise experiences, and other assets operating safely and reliably for guests from around the world. Success in this role requires a knowledgeable specialist and strategic leader who can prioritize effectively, mentor technical professionals, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver rapid, high-quality technical solutions.

• Lead and develop a team of engineers and architects while remaining actively engaged in resolving the organization's most critical facility and sustaining challenges, ensuring full resolution and closure of facility support requests.
• Serve as a hands-on technical leader, guiding root cause analysis, complex problem solving, and reliability improvements across HVAC, electrical, MEP, structural, and other facility systems.
• Balance people leadership with direct contribution by prioritizing resources, supporting high-impact initiatives, and ensuring effective delivery of sustaining services across Disney Experiences.
• Drive accountability for technical outcomes, ensuring facility support requests are resolved with clear documentation, sustainable solutions, and measurable value to stakeholders.
• Shape sustaining strategies, priorities, and operating standards that align day-to-day facility support with long-term business, operational, and Guest experience objectives.  Assist in development of and execute a sustaining on call system through team members and other peer leaders and teams. 
• Build organizational capability through coaching, mentorship, and leading by example, fostering technical excellence, ownership, and future leaders.
• Partner across Operations, Engineering Services, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions, share best practices, and improve enterprise-wide facility performance.
• Create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and service excellence where Disney values are demonstrated through both leadership and action.

Required Qualifications:

• Licensed Architect or Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or in a state with reciprocity to Florida.
• 10+ years of professional experience in a multi-discipline architecture/engineering environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of sustaining engineering practices for complex facilities, including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and system reliability improvement for ride, show, and building systems.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple lines of business in reactive, fast-paced environments while effectively prioritizing work and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols applicable to facilities and construction environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Autodesk Revit and Forma or similar design and documentation tools.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical peers and executives and consolidate information into clear, strategic messaging.
• Proven success building, mentoring, and leading high-performing, diverse teams in a collaborative, service-minded environment.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration.

• Five or more years leading project or organizational teams with salaried direct reports.

• Experience in themed entertainment, hospitality, or complex campus facilities environments that integrate multi-discipline design, operations, and sustaining engineering teams.

• Active participation in professional organizations related to architecture, engineering, or facilities management to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
