We currently have an opening for a well-qualified candidate to join our Field Support Engineer. This position reports to the Customer Support Manager.
As a Field Support Engineer at Quantum-Systems you will play a critical role in solving challenges within the dynamic and competitive government UAS industry. In this role, you will be a creative problem solver, tackling the multi-faceted problems facing our various platforms and delivering cutting edge technology transforming the battlespace. Candidates will exemplify their technical acumen and customer first mentality to support fielded systems, observe operation improvements and advance new technologies aligned to our company's vision for UAS and Airborne Artificial Intelligence. From enabling warfighter needs to executing in field improvements you will be at the forefront of Aerial Intelligence.
Responsibilities:
The Field Support Engineer is responsible for the following:
Collaborate as part of the Quantum-Systems engineering team
Support customer field issues in a high tempo work environment
Performs testing, repairing, replacing parts, loading software and firmware and testing systems for operational deployment
Minimal Supervision to solve complex problems with UAV's including Radios, Electronics, Software and Networking
Provide engineering support for field demonstrations and trade shows
Position requires travel up to 40% of the time to support business needs to remote locations world wide
Will require extended hours and 7 day support when on site with customers
Embody, promote, and live the Quantum Systems core principles
This is an In Office position in Moorpark, CA
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 4-7 years of Embedded System experience
U.S Citizenship
3+ years hands on experience with Software/hardware installation, knowledge of computing networking including UDP and TCP/IP
Experience in wire harness fabrication, soldering and understanding of engineering fabrication drawings and procedures
Experience in Windows and Linux Operating systems
Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Background Check/U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of field engineering support for UAV or Robotic systems
Experience in Video and Data Communications across Ethernet
Success in a startup environment demonstrating adaptability
Experience with Unmanned Aircraft development experience a plus
Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish desired results
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions
