Role Summary
The Accounting Operations Supervisor leads a team of accounting operations professionals to deliver accurate, timely, and controlled transaction processing and accounting support. This role sets clear expectations, manages weekly execution, and drives impactful process improvements that strengthen performance and the control environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and develop a team through coaching, guidance, and mentorship; set clear expectations and goals; monitor and evaluate performance.
Lead, direct, and review work to maintain workflow and productivity, including assigning tasks based on skills and expertise and providing clear instructions and feedback.
Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, adapting communication style to audience and situation.
Explain and reinforce policies, practices, and procedures within the area of responsibility; provide guidance to ensure understanding and compliance.
Make impactful adjustments to procedures and processes to solve problems; analyze current processes and apply process improvement methodologies to enhance effectiveness.
Solve complex operational issues by applying critical thinking, using experience, and analyzing broader impacts and the intent behind operating principles.
Drive operational performance by setting targets, prioritizing work, monitoring results, and taking action to ensure goals are met and department outcomes are improved.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance
Experience leading and coaching a team in an accounting operations, finance operations, or transaction-processing environment.
Demonstrated ability to assign/review work, manage priorities, and deliver weekly operational objectives.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain policies/procedures clearly and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven problem-solving ability, including analyzing issues with broader operational impacts and implementing process changes.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields.
Experience driving process improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with controlled financial operations environments.
