Key Responsibilities:

• Support manager in developing fully capable, highly proficient structural engineers in CSE
• Support ensuring the successful execution of projects using Engineering Standard Work (ESW).
• Perform state-of-the-art ANSYS Finite Element Analysis for stress, vibration, determination of low cycle fatigue life and residual life (fracture mechanics) prediction.
• Ability to write clear substantiation documentation, as well as to create and provide impactful, persuasive technical presentations to internal and external customers.
• Drive execution efficiency on project commitments with high technical quality
• Support planning and manage the technical tasks and milestones, resources, employee development
• Provide classroom and on the job training on structural methods, tools and processes
• Coach and mentor young structural engineers and interns
• Collaborate with project, discipline stakeholders to resolve key structural problems  
• Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy. Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and as a team contributor.
• Contribute to PW IEC and Global structural engineering discipline forums

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 13+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 11+ years prior relevant engineering experience
• Excellent structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, especially Rotors, casings and kinematics
• Strong technical skills in structural engineering tools & methods
• Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components
• Results focus and the ability to drive tasks to completion through disciplined execution

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the development of gas turbine engine compressor hardware
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative
• Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share knowledge with others
• A passion for mentorship and professional development of others
