The Finance organization is seeking a skilled Power BI / SQL Report Writer to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience with Power BI, and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights. This role is to assist in improving Accounting and Finance processes, to achieve agility, efficiencies, and consistency. It involves working closely with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, optimize reporting processes, and support data-driven decision-making.
Additionally, this position will be developing and providing comprehensive process documentation, including detailed flowcharts, to support knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.
We offer a hybrid schedule (Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday remote).
Responsibilities:1) Develop technical solutions (i.e. PowerBi, PowerQuery, Excel Macros, VBA, and SQL) to provide process efficiencies for the Accounting & Finance (A&F) organization
2) Develop automated reporting and monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues
3) Work with business users to gather and document reporting requirements
4) Translate business needs into technical specifications
5) Use technology to optimize and automate processes
6) Developing comprehensive process documentation, including detailed flowcharts, to support knowledge transfer
7) Test and validate reports for accuracy and performance
8) Monitor and troubleshoot data refresh issues
9) Regular use of MS Teams, SharePoint, and Visio
10) Ad hoc special projects
Education and Certifications:
1) Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or related fields is required (equivalent experience may be considered)
Experience:
1) Must have technical experience with PowerBi, PowerQuery, Excel Macros, Visual Basics for Applications (VBA), and SQL
2) Minimum of 1 + year of experience in data analytics, BI development and report writing
3) General understanding of the energy industry and familiarity with industry terminology
4) Prior accounting or financial reporting experience would be preferred but not required
