Responsibilities:
- Manages referral staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed.
- Demonstrates and can use analytical thinking, independent judgment, and clinical knowledge to optimize referral workflows and staff productivity.
- Reports directly to the assigned Regional Director of Referral Management.
- Ensures current and standardized referral policies and workflows are followed and utilized by staff on a regular basis.
- Leading team members by providing guidance, feedback, and training on multiple processes.
- Tracks trends and needs for performance improvement related to productivity and quality benchmarks for the referral management team.
- Effectively communicates with clinical staff to resolve authorization issues and complaints.
- Assures the highest quality, service, performance levels, and efficiency standards are implemented and maintained.
- Analyzes processes and workflows and recommends increased productivity and efficiency to the Regional Director of Referral Management.
- Evaluates and actively solves problems related to any step of the referral process, prior authorizations, and patient scheduling.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
- Two (2) years of experience in medical referrals or other related medical patient support functions in a healthcare setting
- Two (2) or more years of experience with Electronic Health Record
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
