Senior Systems Engineer – Traffic Surveillance Systems
What You Will Do
Core Responsibilities
Lead systems engineering activities for Traffic Surveillance products throughout the product lifecycle, from requirements development through certification and deployment.
Translate customer, regulatory, and product requirements into system-level and detailed engineering requirements.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of systems engineers.
Define and execute system integration, validation, and verification strategies for DAL-B avionics products.
Develop test plans, procedures, test cases, verification reports, and certification artifacts.
Collaborate with software, hardware, certification, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Support certification activities with regulatory authorities and customers.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to engineering best practices.
Expectations of the Role

Ensure compliance with aerospace development and certification standards.
Drive technical decisions and proactively identify and mitigate program risks.
Support successful completion of design reviews, audits, and certification milestones.
Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.
Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based engineering environment with occasional lab and integration testing activities.
Ability to work with computer-based engineering tools for extended periods.
Language Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to create technical documentation and present engineering solutions to stakeholders.
Role Success Measures
Within the first 12 months, you will:
Successfully lead systems engineering activities for one or more Traffic Surveillance programs.
Deliver system requirements, verification artifacts, and certification evidence in accordance with program milestones.
Contribute to successful completion of system integration and verification activities.
Support certification reviews and audits with minimal findings.
Mentor team members and drive engineering process improvements.

Qualifications You Must Have
Education, Experience, Skills & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other STEM discipline.
6-9 years of experience in avionics systems engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience working within ARP4754A/B-based development programs.
Experience developing and managing system requirements using Jama and/or DOORS.
Experience defining and executing system integration and verification activities for avionics products.
Working knowledge of avionics communication protocols including ARINC 429, AFDX, Ethernet, or ARINC 615/615A.
Experience working in Agile development environments using JIRA and Confluence.
Proficiency in Python scripting for engineering and automation activities.
Required Security Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance, if applicable.
Required Immigration Status
Must be authorized to work in the country of employment without current or future employer sponsorship.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with Traffic Surveillance systems including ADS-B, TCAS, and Transponder products.
Familiarity with RTCA standards including DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, and DO-297.
Experience supporting SOI audits and certification reviews.
Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams on complex avionics programs.
